West Ham win vs Aston Villa may rest on Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s ability to nullify Morgan Rogers
West Ham travel to Villa Park in search of three points on Sunday, and they need Aaron Wan-Bissaka to be laser-focused on stopping Aston Villa’s biggest threat, Morgan Rogers.
Wan-Bissaka has been a constant starter under Nuno Espirito Santo, and some would say his performances have just about been okay.
The defender has obvious qualities, but the Irons know he can have off days, but that can’t be the case when he plays Rogers.
Nuno’s side will be up against the Villa Park crowd this weekend, and fan favourite Rogers will be out to deliver on Villa’s hopes of Champions League qualification.
Wan-Bissaka needs to show his best version against the Villans, as West Ham knows better than anyone about how hot and cold the right-back can be.

This is how Nuno needs to deploy Aaron Wan-Bissaka vs Morgan Rogers
Rogers is typically allowed to drop deep and run with the ball against opponents who press Aston Villa high up the field.
However, Nuno may set the Hammers up with a low defensive line in order to beat Villa at their own game, but still, Wan-Bissaka will have an important role to play.

If West Ham do set up in with a deep block, Rogers will most likely have freedom in attacking pockets on the left hand side of play as well as centrally.
Wan-Bissaka is known for his tackling ability, and Nuno needs to have the defender man-marking Villa’s star man at all times.

The full-back is tipped to start in his normal role against the Villans, as every minute detail at this stage of the season counts.
This Paul Scholes comment perfectly sums Wan-Bissaka up
Wan Bissaka has a 6.61 Sofascore rating, which is on track to be considerably lower than his score from last season, 7.13.
Although the ex-Manchester United star has been a victim of overall issues in E20, he’s not shown his best version as much as Nuno would have liked so far.
Wan-Bissaka has shown signs of inconsistency and holes in his game since his time with Man United, as Paul Scholes perfectly summed up the 28-year-old.
Scholes said, as quoted by the Mirror in November of 2021: “Wan-Bissaka is useless on the ball – brilliant defender but useless on the ball at right-back.”
We need him more than ever to show his quality, and more importantly, stop Rogers, who could easily punish the Hammers in their fight for survival.
