West Ham United form provides positivity as projected Premier League table allays fears
West Ham United have plenty to be positive about as their projection for the end of the season paints a better picture than their other relegation rivals.
The Hammers are looking to maintain their Premier League status, and results over the weekend landed their way.
Both Tottenham and Nottingham Forest dropped points while the East Londoners secured all three against Wolves at the London Stadium.
The Irons will be awaiting the result of Leeds’ game against Manchester United on Monday, with potential for even more joy in E20.
However, as things stand, West Ham’s form over the last six may be enough to keep them in the top flight.

Where would West Ham finish based on current Premier League form?
West Ham’s six-match rolling form is much better than their relegation rivals, with the Hammers the only side averaging more than one point per game.
With six games left, it is certainly a positive omen about the performances the E20 outfit are currently putting in.
| Position | Team | Points | Points-per-game average over last six |
| 15th | West Ham | 40 | 1.33 |
| 16th | Nottingham Forest | 39 | 1.00 |
| 17th | Leeds* | 38 | 0.67 |
| 18th | Tottenham | 31 | 0.16 |
Of course, plenty can still shift in the final six games, as seen with the Irons’ change of fortunes.
However, if Nuno Espirito Santo can keep his side on their current track, they should steer safely from the drop zone.
The Hammers are on course to finish above all three of their other relegation rivals and place in 15th.
The 1.33 points per game will leave them on 40 points, and while Tottenham may begin to improve, their form offers little hope they could reach that threshold even with a slight upward trend.
Nuno must now keep things simple and continue pushing his side in the direction they are heading, with the supercomputer reducing West Ham’s chances of going down as well.

Who has the hardest fixtures in the relegation battle?
Unfortunately, West Ham do have the hardest fixtures left according to Opta, with their difficulty before facing Wolves totalling 91.2.
Leeds has been handed the easiest run-in with a difficulty rating of 89.
However, that context does not tell the whole story, as West Ham’s current form could be a difference maker in the relegation battle.

The Hammers’ higher points per game can provide them with the needed confidence to go and get results where they may not be expected to do so.
If they can showcase that they are sustaining their six-game average, then the perception would certainly shift.
