West Ham set to extend 11-year streak as supercomputer predicts result vs Man City

West Ham United are back in Premier League action when they host Man City at the London Stadium on Saturday.

The Hammers experienced FA Cup joy when they beat Brentford on penalties on Monday, but they’ll have to remain focused when Man City come to E20.

Pep Guardiola’s side are still in the title race, but a dreadful 3-0 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday has surely dented their confidence.

West Ham’s clash with Man City has huge ramifications at both ends of the table, and it’s not a shock that the visitors are considered to be the favourites on Saturday.

Man City predicted as heavy favourites vs West Ham

Following a 1-0 win over Fulham last time out, West Ham are looking to win consecutive Premier League games for the third time this season.

They have previously done so in November (against Newcastle and Burnley) and January (against Spurs and Sunderland).

However, according to Opta‘s supercomputer, West Ham are set to lose once again under Nuno Espirito Santo.

West Ham are winless in 20 Premier League matches against Man City since winning 2-1 in September 2015, which is their longest ever winless league run against an opponent.

The Hammers have never beaten Man City at the London Stadium in the Premier League in nine attempts, and have only faced Brighton as often without winning at home.

Therefore, it seems unlikely that their 11-year streak will come to an end, but they’ll definitely be hopeful that they can create a monumental upset.

Guardiola’s side have lost just one of their last 17 top-flight games, but they have a habit of letting leads slip in the second half of matches.

West Ham should be encouraged by woeful Man City stat

When counting first halves only, Man City would have 67 points in the Premier League this season, 13 more than any other side.

However, they are eighth in a second-half table with 41 points, and their 26-point difference between first and second-half results is the most of any side in the top flight in 2025-26.

The Hammers know that if they can limit Man City to few chances in the opening 45 minutes, then they could be in with a great chance of winning the match.

Of course, the absence of Crysencio Summerville is a huge blow, but this is precisely where the likes of Adama Traore and Jarrod Bowen can have a big impact.

While most of the underlying stats aren’t positive, West Ham will be hopeful of ending their dreadful record on Saturday.
