West Ham preview vs Wolves: Team news, lineups, prediction ahead of Premier League showdown
West Ham United are back in Premier League action on Friday as they welcome Wolves to the London Stadium.
It is almost three weeks since the two sides last played a minute of Premier League football, with the international break followed by the FA Cup quarter-finals over Easter weekend.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were one of six top-flight sides to play in the cup, with the Irons falling to a dramatic penalty shootout defeat against relegation rivals Leeds.
Goals from John McGinn and Ollie Watkins condemned West Ham to a 2-0 loss against Aston Villa on the eve of the break, leaving the Hammers in the bottom three heading into the season’s crunch point.
Looking to get back to winning ways, they welcome Wolves to East London, with Rob Edwards’ side locked to the bottom of the standings.

Head-to-head
West Ham and Wolves are as even as they come when it comes to their head-to-head record in the Premier League.
| Stat | West Ham | Wolves |
| Wins | 9 | 9 |
| Draws | 1 | 1 |
| Goals scored | 23 | 22 |
The pair have been involved in some high-scoring games since Wolves’ promotion to the top flight in 2018 too, with the Hammers stunning the Old Gold with a 4-0 win during their successful period under current Irons boss Nuno.
This season, Wolves were winless until January after a dismal start to the season under Vitor Pereira – now in charge of Nottingham Forest.
After showing signs of improvement under Edwards, he would pick up his first win in charge at the start of the year, with a 3-0 triumph against none other than West Ham.
Though, Wolves have not won at the London Stadium since 2020, aiding Nuno’s side as they strive for survival.
Team news and predicted lineups
Speaking at his press conference on Wednesday, the Portuguese boss revealed some exciting information on the injury front.
It was confirmed that Cryscencio Summerville could be fit to see minutes on Friday, after the talismanic wideman was ruled out for a short period in March. Alongside this, Jean-Clair Todibo and Callum Wilson are continuing to get up to speed.
Kostas Mavropanos has cleared concussion protocol, while Aaron Wan-Bissaka is back in training.

On the Wolves front, it should be more of the same to build from the three-match unbeaten run in the league before the break, with the Old Gold picking up wins against Aston Villa and Liverpool, before playing out a 2-2 draw with Brentford.
West Ham predicted XI: Hermansen; Wan-Bissaka, Disasi, Mavropanos, Diouf; Soucek, Fernandes; Bowen, Pablo, Adama; Castellanos
Wolves predicted XI: Sa; Mosquera, Bueno, Krejci; Tchatchoua, Gomes, Andre, Mane, Bueno; Armstrong, Arokodare
We say: West Ham 3-1 Wolves
Facing the league’s basement side, the Hammers are always going to be the favourites, though this is not to say that Wolves will not present a stern test given their recent uptick in form.
With the record at the London Stadium in mind, and the need for three points, Nuno’s side should be well equipped to take all three points against his former club – lifting them out of the bottom three before all three of Nottingham Forest, Tottenham and Leeds play out their matches over the weekend.
