West Ham player ratings vs Wolves – Konstantinos Mavropanos the hero again as Pablo also shines

West Ham United secured a vital three points with a 4-0 win over Wolves on Friday.

The London Stadium clash on 10 April had extra importance, as the Hammers climbed out of the relegation zone for the first time since December.

Tottenham replaced Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side in the drop zone, although they do have a game in hand, against Sunderland on 12 April.

Konstantinos Mavropanos scored the opening goal of the game from a wonderful Jarrod Bowen cross in the 42nd minute, before two goals from Taty Castellanos put the result beyond doubt, and the defender scored the fourth.

West Ham can now have confidence in avoiding relegation, if they can continue their recent momentum.

Konstantinos Mavropanos brilliant in West Ham victory

Mavropanos has been one of West Ham’s best players in recent weeks, and he was the hero once again.

His goal was the difference as he powered a header home past Jose Sa to give Nuno’s side the all-important lead, and then rounded the scoring off with a superb bicycle kick.

He recorded an 80 per cent passing accuracy from the back, creating one chance and made four passes into the final third, per Fotmob.

The Greece star made six clearances, six recoveries, and two tackles, and was utterly dominant when it came to duels.

He won both that he attempted on the ground, for a 100 per cent success rate and four out of five in the air for an 80 per cent success rate.

If he can continue in this form, and to score goals, it could save the Hammers.

Pablo shines in West Ham win

Pablo has struggled to make an impact since he joined the East London club, but he finally made his mark.

The 22-year-old forward only had 30 touches in the contest, but he made them count, especially when he assisted Castellanos’ first.

The Brazilian completed 80 per cent of his passes, and made one into the final third, and created one chance.

Defensively, he really helped out his side, making four tackles, three recoveries, one block and one clearance.

He won four of the nine ground duels that he attempted, for a 44 per cent completion rate.

The E20 outfit may finally be seeing the player that they thought they had signed when they struck a deal with Gil Vicente, and that can only be a positive.
