West Ham: Nuno Espirito Santo needs more hands on goalscoring deck
West Ham United have the least amount of different goalscorers in the Premier League this season.
The Irons have been sharper in front of goal over the last few weeks, but it could be too little too late for them.
Indeed, the 4-0 thumping of Wolves and the 2-1 win over Everton has proven that there are goals in this Nuno Espirito Santo-led side, but finding them on a consistent basis has been a major struggle this term.
However, the 3-0 defeat to Brentford was an unwanted reality check for the Hammers, in what was a wasteful attacking performance.
West Ham now enter a tough final three games, and if they are to stand any chance of retaining their Premier League status, Nuno needs more of his players to start helping out in the goalscoring department.

What has West Ham’s goal distribution been like this season?
West Ham have been poor at both ends of the pitch this season, with 61 goals conceded and only 42 scored.
Given their position in the table and with the little time that remains to change it, however, draws are probably not going to suffice if they are to escape relegation.
| West Ham’s top 3 PL scorers | Goals scored |
| Jarrod Bowen | 8 |
| Callum Wilson | 6 |
| Crysencio Summerville/Tomas Soucek | 5 |
Jarrod Bowen of course remains the Hammers’ best and most fruitful avenue to goal, with his eight league goals scored in 2025-26 currently topping West Ham’s scoring charts.
But Nuno needs to find more routes to goal in these final three games, as his side have been far too reliant on a certain handful of players to put the ball in the net.
As detailed via Transfermarkt, West Ham have the least amount of different goalscorers in the Premier League this season, with only 10 individual players finding the net.

When you consider Wolves have the fourth-most with 15 different scorers and Tottenham third with 17 respectively, there’s no real excuse for West Ham either.
West Ham didn’t get the goalscoring impact needed in January
The January transfer window was a sliding doors opportunity for West Ham to address this situation, with it being clear for all to see that Nuno’s side needed to significantly sharpen their cutting edge.
However, whilst Taty Castellanos has provided some impact with four goals, the fact that Pablo still hasn’t found the net in 11 league outings for the Hammers shows that this wasn’t sufficiently achieved over the winter.
Adama Traore has only been able to bag one assist for the Irons, and hasn’t scored a single goal for either West Ham or Fulham in 2025-26 either.
So, it’s perhaps these three players in particular that Nuno needs to start stepping up in the goals department over the final fixtures, and if they do, it could save their Premier League lives.
