West Ham gem Frankie Day gets off to perfect start after signing, Mark Noble will be delighted
West Ham United academy talent Frankie Day enjoyed a dream start to life at the club.
The highly-rated 16-year-old forward recently joined from Tottenham and is a fully-fledged youth international for England.
The deal was viewed as a major coup at the London Stadium, with schoolboy Day having gained a reputation for being ‘prolific’ for Spurs’ fledglings.
Hammers legend Mark Noble, now the club’s sporting director, is said to have played a crucial role in brokering the deal, and it didn’t take long for the ace to make an impact.
While his priority will be keeping West Ham in the Premier League, Nuno Espirito Santo will no doubt be keeping an eye on the academy, and Day may have just appeared on his radar.

What did Frankie Day do on his debut?
Day made his Irons debut in the Under-16s 2-0 win against Reading at the weekend.
After pulling on the hallowed shirt for the first time since arriving from Spurs, the talent registered an assist in his 40-minute outing and looked lively throughout.

| Michael Carrick | 1997-2004 | 5x Premier League, 1x Champions League |

According to Instagram page The Talent Hunter, Day is “definitely a player to keep an eye on”, and judging by his positive introduction at the club, he is set for a bright future indeed.
While West Ham will not rush him into first-team action, they will continue to closely assess him and promote him to higher age groups when they deem him ready.
The ultimate goal, of course, will be for the forward to eventually fight for a spot in the first-team, while they could also look to loan him out in the not-so-distant future.
Why did he choose West Ham?
The answer is simple: West Ham have perhaps the best academy in the country. They also have a staggering track record of producing young talents who go on to achieve stardom.
This means that the tag ‘The Academy of Football’ is very much merited.
Over the years, the likes of Declan Rice, Bobby Moore and Frank Lampard all cut their teeth at the East London club, and the current academy gems will look to follow in their footsteps.
Day may be included among them, but he must first keep his feet firmly on the ground.
