West Ham: Daniel Cummings struggling to adapt, so what’s next?
Daniel Cummings has not hit the ground running at West Ham United as expected.
The Irons spent over £170million in the summer transfer window, but one of their more intriguing signings was Cummings, who arrived on a free from Celtic.
Cummings scored 23 goals for Celtic’s B team before making the move to the London Stadium, where he has yet to make an appearance for the senior squad.
Given West Ham’s battle against relegation, that may not be unexpected, but the Scotsman has struggled at the Under-21 level, and it casts a doubt over where his football will be played next season.

How has Daniel Cummings fared for West Ham Under-21s?
The 19-year-old has made 17 appearances for the Hammers across all competitions, but he has managed just three goals.
On top of that, he has played just 262 minutes in the Premier League 2, with two starts from the nine appearances he has made.
Only one of his goals have arrived in the league, despite the forward having taken 11 shots.
His goal record is far from convincing, but the biggest concern is how he has struggled with the level of physicality.
Cummings has won just 22.2 per cent of his duels in the league, which places him in the bottom 6.3 per cent of players in the Premier League 2.
What makes that even more of a concern is that his game is lacking elsewhere.
Cummings has not managed to complete a single dribble for the Irons this season, making his role in the forward line largely non-existent.
What’s next for Cummings?
Cummings arrived at West Ham with high hopes, and they won’t have diminished quite yet.
However, it’s clear that playing academy football is not aiding his development whatsoever, nor is it giving the Hammers any real glimpse into the type of player he is.
West Ham need to find a suitable loan move for the striker, and given his record prior to his move, it would make sense for that to be in Scotland.
