Robbie Savage predicts scoreline for Aston Villa vs West Ham showdown

Robbie Savage has given his prediction ahead of West Ham United’s clash with Aston Villa.

The Hammers travel to Villa Park in search of three points after playing out a draw with Manchester City last time out – momentarily lifting them out of the bottom three.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have turned a corner in 2026, with his side now locked in a relegation battle with Nottingham Forest, Tottenham and Leeds.

All four sides matched each other in terms of result last weekend, but now have the opportunity to gain ground following Leeds’ 0-0 draw with Brentford.

Looking ahead to the clash in the Midlands, Savage has predicted another favourable result for the Irons.

Robbie Savage predicts another favourable West Ham result

With Tottenham and Nottingham Forest going head-to-head simultaneously, West Ham have a big chance to climb out of the bottom three with a result.

Since turning a corner this calendar year, Nuno has his side within touching distance of an escape, though they need to keep up the form.

Looking ahead to the huge clash at Villa Park, Savage predicted another result that would be ideal for West Ham as they look to carry momentum into the international break.

“Jarrod Bowen, you have got to look at Bowen for a goal here,” Savage told Planet Sport.

“I think West Ham will play on the counter-attack, and I’m going to go with a 2-2 draw in this one.

Elsewhere in the clip, Savage expressed his belief that Tottenham will secure a 2-0 win against fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest.

If these results were to come to fruition, then the Hammers would lift themselves out of the bottom three, this time not just momentarily.

West Ham must carry momentum into international break

The clash at Villa Park carries huge implications at both ends of the table, with opponents Villa battling for their place in the Champions League.

Since the turn of the year, West Ham have looked a completely different side under Nuno, who has been given time to implement his ideas, and ideally guide the London Stadium outfit to safety – something that seems much more likely than it did at the back end of 2025.

On the eve of the international break, there is a huge chance for West Ham to make a big statement and climb out of the bottom three, leaving their rivals sitting with the pain of sitting in the drop zone for an extended period.

With fixtures against Wolves and Crystal Palace next up in the league, a strong result at Villa Park would see them go into the more favourable clashes with momentum behind them, something that could well decide who stays up come May.
