Paco Jemez may stay at West Ham after all as cryptic social media message sent

Paco Jemez could stay on Nuno Espirito Santo‘s coaching team for next season, despite West Ham United‘s relegation to the Championship.

The Hammers had their relegation confirmed last weekend, ending a near 14-year stay in the Premier League.

However, Nuno always started on the wrong foot after the Irons failed to get his trust number two Jemez in early, leading to a poor start.

One his partner in crime arrived in E20, results started to pick up, but in the end, it was too little too late.

Jemez hinted at his West Ham exit on social media recently, but following positive updates on Nuno’s future, the former could remain at the London Stadium after all.

Paco Jemez posts new West Ham message

Jemez sent what seemed to be a parting message to West Ham fans earlier this week, apologising for the awful way the season ended.

Despite relegation, the assistant coach is a much-loved figure by fans, for his passion, and clear work ethic that gave the Hammers hope of survival in the first place.

Nuno looks set to stay at West Ham after a U-turn in talks with the board, as preparation for the Championship season is now underway.

While there is an ongoing boardroom shuffle happening, Nuno’s staff looks set to stay the same, so long as his assistant stays put.

Taking to X this Sunday, Jemez posted a new cryptic message.

He wrote: “But what if it wasn’t the end.”

Jemez included a picture of the London Stadium in the background, as it seems like he’s suggesting he will stay with the Hammers after seemingly hinting at his exit just days prior.

West Ham’s staff was never the problem; here’s why

As explained earlier, Nuno got off to a rough start, but this was because the club let him down by failing to get Jemez in quick enough.

The West Ham boss was without his usual number two, someone whom he has relied on for most of his coaching career.

It’s been decisions made by the Hammers’ hierarchy that have led to this sorry downfall, as even the winter window was arguably a failure, despite the signings of Taty Castellanos and Axel Disasi.

We’ll see what David Sullivan and Co. have in store for the Hammers this summer, but if supported correctly, Nuno and Jemez will coach the Irons back to where they belong.

There’s no question about that.
