Nuno Espirito Santo could have it all to do to keep West Ham United in the Premier League when looking back at previous results this season.

Since the winter window, there have been clear improvements at London Stadium, instilling belief that staying up is a possibility for the E20 outfit.

However, as the season ticks down, each game becomes more and more important. The Hammers’ final eight games are not easy by any means.

Particularly as there is quite a bad omen when looking at West Ham’s results in the reverse fixtures played previously this campaign.

How did West Ham perform in reverse fixtures for final eight Premier League games?

There are only eight games left this season for the Irons and 24 points in total still to play for.

Nuno will be looking to accumulate as many results as possible, as the relegation battle could ultimately go down to the wire.

There are just three points separating 15th and 18th this season. However, West Ham will have some concerns, as against their upcoming opponents, they were only able to secure four points from the 24 available in the reverse games.

It is certainly a bad omen for the Portuguese manager, who was in charge for seven of those games this season.

That record left the Hammers with just a 0.5 points per game total. Hope will be much higher for these eight fixtures, though.

Over the last 10 games, the Irons’ form has given them a points per game of 1.5.

With survival on the line, Nuno will need to show the improvements he has made at London Stadium in full fashion.

Defensive upgrades can provide much needed West Ham U-turn

Goal difference could decide West Ham’s Premier League future, and in those eight games, they had a total of negative eight.

The Hammers conceded 16 goals in those fixtures; however, the arrival of Axel Disasi has boosted their strength at the back.

With the Frenchman in the backline, Nuno has kept three clean sheets in just six matches.

His arrival has been nothing short of game-changing for the E20 outfit, and he will be priority number one in the summer window should the Irons stay up.

Overall, while the previous results paint a bad omen for the East Londoners, Nuno has brought enough improvements to deliver some hope.

However, that trajectory must now continue when it matters most in the battle for survival.
