Marcus Rashford has reached out to West Ham United ace Aaron Wan-Bissaka after his DR Congo side qualified for the World Cup.

The right-back spent the March international break with his nation, knowing that a place in the summer tournament was on the line.

He featured as the Central African nation faced off against Jamaica in a straight shootout to reach the showpiece in North America.

An extra-time winner from Burnley’s Axel Tuanzebe made all the difference and sparked wild celebrations at Akron Stadium, Mexico.

Wan-Bissaka featured for DR Congo across the full 120 minutes and has since received a message from Rashford on social media.

The 28-year-old has been a useful asset since moving to the London Stadium after five years featuring for Manchester United.

He played regularly alongside Rashford as both became staples at Old Trafford, mainly under the watchful eye of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.

After over 10,000 minutes on the pitch together for the Red Devils, their relationship is clearly still intact despite neither still featuring for Man United.

The forward is on loan at Barcelona, while Wan-Bissaka is at West Ham, but that hasn’t stopped Rashford from reaching out to his former colleague.

The Hammers defender took to Instagram to celebrate DR Congo’s place in the World Cup, sharing a series of photos with the caption, “HISTORY WAS MADE.”

The Barca loanee was quick to respond to the post, sharing a comment with a single heart emoji to show love to his ex-teammate.

Wan-Bissaka was excellent for West Ham against Man United earlier in the season, so the Old Trafford faithful are bound to be frustrated by the right-back.

No one can blame the defender for reacting in the way he did after reaching the World Cup for the first time in his career.

He arguably deserved the honour after an accomplished performance against Jamaica to seal a place in North America for the summer.

Wan-Bissaka played 120 minutes and was still able to maintain an 88 per cent pass accuracy, while creating one chance on the day.

He also chipped in with three defensive actions and won three duels to help his side keep a clean sheet and secure victory.
