Jarrod Bowen will once again be critical when West Ham United host Leeds United in their FA Cup quarter-final clash on Sunday.

This has been an incredibly poor campaign for the Hammers, but Bowen has been phenomenal at times, and it’s safe to say that they would have no hope of staying in the top flight without their captain.

Despite registering 14 goal contributions this season, the England international has cut a forlorn figure at times, and it’s clear that if Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were to drop down to the Championship, then his spell in E20 would be over.

However, up next for West Ham is a huge FA Cup quarter-final clash at the London Stadium against Leeds, and they could reach the semi-finals of the competition at Wembley for the first time in 10 years.

While Bowen has been brilliant for West Ham, captaining his side to an FA Cup win would cement his status as one of their greatest players, and luckily, he has a very impressive record against Leeds.

The English winger has experienced joy against the majority of Premier League teams, and Daniel Farke’s side are certainly no exception.

Bowen has scored five goals and registered three assists in 13 appearances against Leeds in his career.

And with his goalscoring form not slowing down this season, he’ll provide a huge threat on the right-hand side.

Bowen has completed 46 successful dribbles in the top flight this season, which is 95 per cent higher than all other right wingers in the division.

The England international has also created 32 chances, showing he can consistently create and score goals from anywhere.

With 67 shots and an xG of 6.20, the 29-year-old could haunt Leeds, and he is West Ham’s best chance of advancing to the FA Cup semi-finals.

Having helped West Ham to back-to-back top-seven finishes between 2020 and 2022, Bowen has a completely different task on his hands this season.

Although keeping West Ham afloat and potentially winning the FA Cup could mean a whole lot more to his legacy in E20.

Whenever Bowen does leave West Ham, it will certainly be a sad day for every fan in E20.

Even if you discount his goal against Fiorentina in that memorable Conference League final, he has scored 83 goals for the Hammers in all competitions.

With 108 goal involvements in the Premier League, no fan could imagine that he would have this sort of impact when he joined West Ham.

The Hammers haven’t won the FA Cup since 1980, but they have a perfect opportunity to book their place at Wembley for this year’s semi-finals.

And with Bowen typically on form against Leeds, fans will be optimistic that Nuno can mastermind a win for his team at the London Stadium as they look to create club history in the competition.
