David Sullivan’s fiancee Ampika Pickston makes error of judgement with social media post
David Sullivan’s fiancee, Ampika Pickston, won’t have done much to ease the tension between West Ham United fans and those at boardroom level with her latest social media post.
Of course, there has long been a feeling of frustration from West Ham supporters towards the hierarchy at the London Stadium.
Whether it be the move from Upton Park to the London Stadium, a lack of investment, poor recruitment and now relegation to the Championship, there’s certainly not a happy feeling around the place at present.
Much change is needed this summer, and indeed, moving forward in general, if West Ham are to bounce straight back into the Premier League and compete towards the right end of the table if/when they get back there.
However, with the curtain having only just fallen on the 2025-26 season, Pickston has decided to send a message to Hammers supporters.

What did Ampika Pickston post about West Ham?
Pickston has been criticised for posting ill-timed messages before, and her latest social media post relating to West Ham won’t go down well with many either.
The 44-year-old, who is engaged to Hammers co-chairman Sullivan, attempted to send somewhat of a rallying cry message to the Irons faithful after the Club’s relegation to the Championship.

“Time to re-set, restructure and rebuild. Only way is UP,” Pickston wrote via her X account.
The first issue that a lot of West Ham fans will have with this statement is that it’s not entirely true, as the only way certainly doesn’t have to be up.
West Ham are far from guaranteed to win promotion next season, and you only need to glance at the 2025-26 Championship table to see Leicester City being relegated after dropping down from the Premier League last term.
The second problem many Irons supporters will have with the post is the image of Pickston accompanying her words.
Pickston is seen wearing a wide smile and standing directly on the West Ham crest, in what does feel a slightly out of touch thing to do and post given the current circumstances the football club finds itself in.
West Ham supporters don’t want words
You would like to think Pickston’s message was coming from the right place and was sent with genuinely good intentions, but it’s not at all what West Ham fans want to hear right now.
They don’t want words from those at boardroom level, they want action. Clear, decisive, impactful action, that starts to really get the football club moving in the right direction again.
Pickston is right in what she says regarding it being time to “restructure” and “rebuild”, but Hammers fans have known that and have been calling for it for many years to precious little reward.
Now is not the time for words, it’s time for serious action, and Pickston perhaps should’ve read the room slightly better with this post.
