Nuno Espirito Santo has confirmed that Crysencio Summerville could have a chance to feature for West Ham United against Leeds United but is still being assessed day by day.

The winger has been out of action since the beginning of March due to a calf injury sustained in the previous round of the FA Cup.

The Irons are hoping to restart the return of domestic football in fine fashion, with plenty on the line in the next seven weeks.

That is all the time the Hammers will have to make something of this campaign, with Premier League survival and FA Cup joy potentially on the horizon.

Now, ahead of West Ham’s FA Cup tie, manager Nuno has provided the latest updates about the fitness of Summerville.

Fans have been eagerly waiting to hear updates on Summerville’s return to action.

The FA Cup game versus Leeds had previously been pencilled in as a potential comeback for the 24-year-old.

Speaking on Summerville on Friday afternoon, Nuno said: “We’re trying to get him as soon as possible. Assessing day by day. First we have to assess if he feels good. We are not there yet [for Sunday] but still one day to go.”

If Summerville is not completely fit, the Portuguese manager may be best keeping him out of the team, with important Premier League matches around the corner.

Risking the Dutchman may not be wise in the FA Cup, even if a semi-final at Wembley looms. Summerville has been in excellent form since the turn of 2026, and his contributions could keep West Ham up.

Nuno does hold an impressive record in quarter-finals, which he will be looking to hold onto against Leeds.

This will be just the fourth meeting between West Ham and Leeds in the FA Cup and only the third time they have ever drawn each other.

The first came over 100 years ago in the 1923-1924 season, where a 1-1 draw forced a replay. Unfortunately, Leeds would come out on top in the second meeting.

It would not be until 2021-2022 when the Irons could enact revenge, securing a 2-0 win against the Whites.

Either side have the chance to retake the head-to-head this time around, but Nuno may be without Summerville to do so.
