Supercomputer predicts outcome of London City vs West Ham Women

West Ham Women are on their travels on Sunday as they look to pick up their first point in the 2025-26 campaign.

With West Ham’s men’s side currently away on international break, it could be the ideal time for fans to show their support for the women’s team.

However, the start of the new campaign has been tough for the Hammers, with the East London club losing their first five WSL1 matches.

Rooted at the bottom of the table, they will try to end this terrible run of form when they face London City on Sunday.

London City favourites for West Ham showdown

Going into the season, it was predicted that West Ham would be in a relegation battle. However, few would have thought the campaign would start this badly.

West Ham did make signings in the summer, including the addition of Sarah Brasero, but these are yet to yield results in the WSL1.

Thankfully, performances have started to pick up, with the Hammers overcoming Brighton 2-1 in the Women’s League Cup on Wednesday, in what was an impressive result and display.

However, Opta on 10 October is still predicting London City to come out on top.

The hosts’ odds of winning currently sit at 51.9 per cent, whereas West Ham Women have been given a 23.6 per cent chance of walking away with three points.

The chance of a draw is at 24.5 per cent.

West Ham Women have solid record against London City

In their last three matches, West Ham are unbeaten against London City, winning two of these games.

These are the only meetings between the two sides, with Sunday’s opponents only being founded in 2019.

Now, Rehanne Skinner’s team will be looking to repeat this feat and take West Ham off the foot of the table and away from the relegation playoff zone.

The match will no doubt be difficult. However, a result is doable if the Hammers play at their best.
