West Ham Fantasy Premier League – Winners and losers from August

West Ham United are causing nightmares for Fantasy Premier League managers this season.

Many Hammers fans turned to familiar faces such as Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta to start the season, while others liked the look of new West Ham signing El Hadji Malick Diouf as an attack-minded wing-back option.

West Ham started this season disastrously, losing 3-0 to Sunderland on the opening day before collapsing to a 5-1 defeat to Chelsea at the London Stadium.

Most managers began to sensibly take out any Hammers assets from their lineups, before West Ham shocked everyone by winning 3-0 at Nottingham Forest.

After August’s fixtures have been completed, West Ham Zone take a look at who the winners and losers were in Fantasy Premier League, and who to use going forward.

Lucas Paqueta is West Ham’s top points scorer so far on FPL

Paqueta is clear at the front of the pack in terms of points gained on FPL, registering an outstanding 21 points in the first three games.

Following an anonymous performance at the Stadium of Light on the opening day, Paqueta scored a screamer to open the scoring against Chelsea, before scoring a calm penalty in the win at Forest.

The Brazilian has helped his tally with the addition of defensive contributions, to which he completed 15 in the win at the City Ground.

Elsewhere, Diouf has been great in the attacking end of the pitch, registering 10 points at Forest, while Bowen as been contributing as he does every season, making him a reliable option.

Niclas Fullkrug leaving much to be desired

Outside of those three, West Ham have not seen much contribution in a Fantasy Premier League sense in the first three games.

The biggest disappointment is that of Niclas Fullkrug, who is now set for time on the sidelines after picking up an injury for Germany.

Fullkrug is yet to score or assist this season, registering just five points so far, and the damning indictment on the forward is the fact Callum Wilson has more points in just 90 minutes of action so far.

Elsewhere, defenders outside of Diouf are not racking up points, with most of the damage done against Chelsea at the London Stadium, making their defence a no-go for managers.
