Mousinho hints at what the future holds for West Ham loanee Freddie Potts
John Mousinho has shared what the future might look like for Freddie Potts once he returns from injury at Portsmouth.
The youngster has spent the season on loan on the South Coast as the Hammers look for him to gain minutes and first-team experience.
While there was speculation about being recalled to West Ham during the winter transfer window, the Irons have allowed Potts to stay put and continue his season at Fratton Park.

Freddie Potts a key man at Portsmouth
The 21-year-old has excelled on loan in the Championship this term and become a regular in the Portsmouth squad having made 26 league appearances this season.
The midfielder has one goal and four assists in the league and has been hailed for his composed performances for Pompey.
However, a calf injury has led Potts to miss Portsmouth’s two previous matches and watch from the sidelines.
Portsmouth boss Mousinho has hinted that Saturday’s game against QPR could be slightly too early for him to return and there is no need to rush him back too soon.
However, the boss has assured the midfielder that he is very much ready to be weclomed into the side as he said in his pre-match press conference [via London World]: “Our squad is stronger now, which does come into it, definitely. But as soon as Freddie is fit, we are not going to hold him back.
“We want Fred back as soon as possible, definitely, he’s been brilliant this season and played pretty much every game he’s been available for, apart from the ones we’ve rested him. He’s been a pivotal part of what we are trying to achieve.”

Freddie Potts showing Graham Potter what he can do
Although Pompey have really struggled in the second tier this season, they look as though they may be able to save themselves now as they sit 18th in the table.
While it may have been a poor season for the team as a whole, Potts has absolutely excelled away from his East London home and made himself a popular man on the South Coast.
For the 21-year-old to make himself a regular part of the side and undroppable speaks volumes about his input and you can understand why Mousinho is wary about bringing him back into the squad too soon and affecting his fitness for longer than needs be.
However, it seems the boss has no qualms about whether he will be selected when fit again as he waxed lyrical about his abilities and seems to be completely sold.
When the summer transfer window arrives, Graham Potter will be left with some decisions to make over the future of certain players at The London Stadium.
For Potts, he has surely been selling himself to his new boss who is known for working wonders with young players throughout his career so far.
There’s no doubt that his parent club will opt to do whatever is best for his continued development but West Ham fans could get excited about the prospect they have on their hands.
