Wolves want to sign Michail Antonio, West Ham need to bring in replacement first
Wolves are targeting a move for Michail Antonio of West Ham, who are exploring the market for a new forward themselves, according to TEAMtalk.
The digital news platform reported online (7 August) that Wolves are in need of striking reinforcements this summer and have held a long-term interest in the Jamaica international.
The Hammers are open to offers for the 33-year-old as their Premier League all-time top goalscorer enters the final year of his contract at the London Stadium.

However, with Gianluca Scamacca already on his way out of the club, they are unlikely to sanction a move for the former Nottingham Forest man until they bring in a new forward themselves.

Letting Antonio go would certainly be a mistake by David Moyes at this moment in time, as the club are light on striking options with Scamacca’s imminent departure expected to be announced at any moment.
Although, if the East London outfit can bring in a new forward, perhaps a younger, hungrier alternative to Antonio, then it would make sense to let him depart this summer.

With just one year left on his contract, it is very unlikely that either party will be looking to renew and this will mean that he is able to walk away for free next summer. By selling him now they will at least recoup a fee for their long-serving player.
Leaving now would also offer Antonio the perfect opportunity to leave the club on a high following last season’s UEFA Europa Conference League victory. An exit makes sense for everyone involved, a replacement just needs to be signed first.
In other West Ham news, the club have been knocked back in their approach for one striker who could replace Antonio.
