West Ham United may have Nuno Espirito Santo to thank if they win the race for Nottingham Forest defender Morato's signature.
The 25-year-old is allowed to leave the City Ground ahead of the 11pm deadline on Tuesday.

What is latest on West Ham pursuit of Morato?
Morato was a £12.6million signing for Forest from Benfica two years ago and has made 66 appearances for the Reds in all competitions.
That includes 21 outings in the Premier League last season, though he has not yet featured under Oliver Glasner this season.
While the Brazilian centre-back is being allowed to leave Forest, it will not be on a permanent basis.
That is according to Sky Sports News, who reported on Monday afternoon that ongoing talks between West Ham and Forest are with regards to a loan.
While West Ham may face competition for Morato, they seemingly have an advantage in manager Nuno.
What has Morato previously said about Nuno Espirito Santo?
Nuno managed Morato during his early days at the City Ground, so the pair already know each other.
Speaking just a few months ago, Morato talked up the importance of Forest's Portuguese coaching staff at the time - Nuno included - for helping him settle into life at Forest.
He went on to hail Nuno as a "very strategic" manager.
Nuno, meanwhile, said of Morato: "He’s giving us a lot of good things.”
It is clear that Nuno liked what he saw given West Ham's late interest, and hopefully that previous connection works in the Irons' favour.
