When Crysencio Summerville could green light West Ham exit as Roma get closer to asking price
Crysencio Summerville appears to be ever closer to leaving West Ham United for Serie A side Roma.
It's widely reported that the Hammers are ready to lose the Dutchman this summer, even after the mega-money departure of Mateus Fernandes.
It has been reported that before David Sullivan's exit, the West Ham owner needed to raise around £100million in player sales.
However, sometimes letting a player leave upon request is the best solution, with sales not expected to be a problem for the Irons now.
Roma have been the leading candidate to land Nuno Espirito Santo's key winger, who exploded into form at the London Stadium during the winter period.
However, West Ham fans could soon be waving goodbye to Summerville, with Roma set to get an answer very shortly.
Crysencio Summerville to make final Roma decision
West Ham Zone has already reported that Summerville's agents have spoken to Roma this week about a potential move.
The likes of PSG, Manchester United and other big European hitters are said to be interested, which may be some reason for the delay so far on the player's end.
However, further talks between the player's camp and the Italian giants have been mooted, with the forward previously requesting £5.1m-per-year, or £98,000-a-week, but those demands have dropped.
According to Sky Sport Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Roma are "ready" to offer the Hammers £38m for the 24-year-old, a figure they hope is enough to strike a club-to-club agreement.
It's said that the club's most recent offer to Summerville has satisfied him and his camp.
Summerville could make a decision as early as Thursday, when he will return from Miami and evaluate his future with his agents.
How much are Roma still short of West Ham valuation?
There were earlier reports that Roma were willing to pay £34m to sign Summerville, but that seems to have been upped another £4m.
Though this is not the fee that West Ham reportedly want for the former Leeds United star, Roma are getting closer.
However, it means that the Serie A club would still be £12m short of the Hammers' widely reported £50m asking price.
But given that Summerville could soon give the green light for a move to Roma, West Ham may have to come to a compromise.
They got what they wanted for Fernandes, but it doesn't always go the way you want in football, especially with transfers.
