West Ham could soon lose Crysencio Summerville to Roma.

The Netherlands international is coming off the back of a summer at the World Cup with his nation.

Having scored two goals at the global tournament, interest in his signature has only increased.

There was already a number of sides keeping tabs on the 24-year-old after a much-improved campaign at the London Stadium.

His form wasn't enough to keep the Hammers in the Premier League, but he could be set for an imminent top flight return.

Summerville has now met with Roma as the Italian giants look to seal a deal for the attacking midfielder.

West Ham Zone previously covered Manchester United interest in Summerville as they continue to keep an eye on the attacking midfielder this summer.

It now appears that the Red Devils could be beaten to the punch as a Serie A switch comes into view.

That comes after Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla reporting on Tuesday that the Dutchman's agent has now met with Roma.

An hour meeting was held with his representative as they showed an intent to pay him £65,000-per-week.

They would be willing to pay the Irons around £34million for his signature as part of that arrangement.

Roma are said to be "eagerly anticipating the move", but are still waiting on an answer that could come as early as Tuesday evening.

Manchester United could still sign Summerville from West Ham

It appears that the Giallorossi have pushed themselves to the front of the queue for the ex-Leeds man.

That could be partly due to the situation that Man United now find themselves in with Marcus Rashford.

Reports have suggested that the Red Devils will need to sell the England international before moving for another left-wing option.

Summerville is a target for that position, but could still be on the move to Old Trafford based on Pedulla's report.

He has outlined that "other English clubs are currently on hold but ready to restart," which could easily include Michael Carrick's side.

A move to Man United will now likely hinge on how the Dutchman and West Ham respond to Roma's offer.

The Serie A outfit will certainly be hoping that the 20-time Premier League champions don't force their way back into the race any time soon.
