What scout thinks of Crysencio Summerville as West Ham get ready to say goodbye

West Ham United star Crysencio Summerville looks set to leave the London Stadium to join Al-Hilal.

Following West Ham's relegation from the Premier League last season, the 24-year-old's future has been in major doubt.

Earning a call-up to the Netherlands World Cup squad - and then impressing in North America - has greased the wheels for a speedy exit from the London Stadium, with Al-Hilal seemingly now in pole position to strike a deal.

Summerville's now earned huge praise from former Inter Milan assistant manager and Ajax scout Michel Kreek, which will further build the case for interest clubs to mount an assault on West Ham to sign the winger.

It now seems to be a matter of when and not if Summerville leaves East London.

And ahead of a potential move to the Middle East, Kreek has spoken about the impact that the ex-Leeds forward could have had in the Italian capital, if he opted for Roma instead.

Speaking to Retesport, Kreek raved about Summerville's World Cup appearances for the Netherlands.

However, he did admit that he was taken aback by how well the West Ham winger actually did.

"He did very well at the World Cup, and for us Dutch, it was surprising, given that he's not very well known, having never played in the Eredivisie because he was part of the Feyenoord youth academy but left very early to gain experience in England.

"He did well at West Ham; he's a quick, agile player who can beat his opponents: he scores goals, provides assists, basically, a bit of everything. Summerville is a fun winger, and he's beautiful to watch.

"In Serie A, he can do great things because he's very quick and has a good dribbling ability, an important quality for a striker."

While Kreek and the Roma-affiliated Retesport seem to think Summerville is heading to Italy this summer, The Athletic reporter David Ornstein said on Tuesday that he's now due to undergo a medical at Al-Hilal.

How Aston Villa are trying to upset the apple cart

West Ham Zone has previously relayed claims from Italy that say Aston Villa have agreed a fee with West Ham for Summerville.

OcW Sports journalist Luca Cerchione has reported this week that personal terms were also agreed between Roma and Summerville.

However, Al-Hilal have now stolen a march on their transfer rivals, offering around £68million, which has been accepted by the Irons, as well as agreeing a long-term contract with the player.

It's easy to see why these clubs want to sign the Rotterdam-born star.

Last season, the left-winger scored seven times and supplied five assists in 34 appearances across all competitions for West Ham, which earned him a spot in Ronald Koeman's Netherlands squad for the World Cup.

In his first competitive senior international appearance, he scored in a 2-2 draw against Japan in Dallas, before bagging a goal and assist in his second game against Sweden, which resulted in a 5-1 victory for the Dutch.

He did get another assist in the Round of 32. However, the Netherlands' World Cup adventure came to a halt when they were beaten on penalties by Morocco.
