West Ham want to sign Etienne Green - report
West Ham United are one of the clubs that want to sign St. Etienne goalkeeper Etienne Green, according to TEAMtalk.
The online outlet has reported that Spurs are also interested in the young talent who has “huge potential.”
It is suggested that any potential deal for the England youth international would not come cheap in the future.
Green has been in top form in Ligue 1 and has also played for the French youth international sides before.
Standing at 6’4″, bids are expected to arrive on the table in 2022 with a move away from France looking likely.
Gareth Southgate is also said to be watching the keeper very closely, with the England senior side close.
Should Green earn that call sooner rather than later, his value could skyrocket once again moving forward.
It looks as though there could be a major reshuffle at the London Stadium beyond this season going into next.
David Moyes currently has Lukasz Fabianski as his number one, with loanee Alphonse Areola behind him.
There could be a situation where both of those leave as well as David Martin and Darren Randolph being shown the exit door.
Realistically, Areola could stick around and Fabianksi may sign a new contract after retiring from international football.
With all those possibilities, a new goalkeeper would be a smart move next year, and Green coming in as a young stopper with huge potential could be a perfect choice.
It is time to start putting faith in younger players at times, with Green the perfect example over in France that it could work.
