West Ham want to sign Copenhagen striker Jonas Wind
West Ham United are keen on signing Copenhagen striker Jonas Wind in the upcoming transfer window, according to Jeunes Footeux.
The online outlet has reported on their website that the Danish international is attacking interest from the Premier League – also from Newcastle.
It is suggested that it would take offers of up to £16.9million and beyond to start negotiations between the two parties.
Wind has started the season in fine form already.
The Danish international has scored eight goals and delivered five assists already, picking up where he left off last season.
The striker was involved in 25 goals in that campaign and will be looking for similar, if not more this time around – something which is sparking strong interest.
West Ham were linked with a move for Wind across the past summer, but no move was agreed in the end.
This is no real surprise given our links across the summer.
Wind has continued his form for the past year and has also scored some important goals for Denmark during World Cup qualifying.
Michail Antonio has been on fire, but there has been no out-and-out replacement for him on the bench since Sebastien Haller left for Ajax.
Nikola Vlasic arrived, but the Croatian is more of an attacking midfielder and similar to the likes of Jarrod Bowen who can play as a number nine if needed.
Squad depth is vital, especially when you add the Europa League to our schedule and the final third is one of the last areas that needs addressing after our brilliant end to the summer.
