West Ham want to sign Aaron Hickey from Bologna – report
West Ham are keen on signing defender Aaron Hickey from Serie A side Bologna this summer, according to a new report from 90min.
The 19-year-old Scotland full-back has been ripping up trees while over in Italy after joining Bologna from Hearts in the summer of 2020.
His performances recently earned him his first call-up to Steve Clarke’s squad and he’s now reportedly attracting attention from a host of Premier League sides including the Hammers.

90min are reporting that all of the ‘big six’ are monitoring his development, while Juventus, Napoli, Bayern Munich, West Ham, Leeds, Leicester, Brighton, Southampton and Brentford are all also interested in signing him.
He currently has two years left on his contract in Italy and while he is happy on the continent right now, he reportedly sees his future in England’s top flight.
Perfect
Hickey is the perfect profile of signing that West Ham and Moyes should be targeting this summer and in the future.
At just 19-years-old he has got a hugely bright future ahead of him, and his ability is clear for all to see so the potential he has is great.

With Vladimir Coufal and Aaron Cresswell both in their thirties by the time next season comes around, the Hammers could do with strengthening that department of their squad.
Hickey has the ability to play equally well in both full-back positions, which has seen him compared to Manchester United legend Denis Irwin, and along with Ben Johnson could be the future in that position for the team.
There is clearly stiff competition, but with their excellent season so far they will surely be an attractive option to the player. With two years left on his deal too, there may not be a better time to do the deal either.
