West Ham want to sign £30m-rated Max Aarons this summer

West Ham are interested in signing Max Aarons when the transfer window opens and Norwich are willing to let him leave, report The Independent.

Norwich are likely to demand £30million for Aarons, who has also attracted interest from Everton, but he would reportedly prefer to stay in the south.

Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Tottenham have been linked to the right-back in the past, adds The Independent, but Aarons was persuaded to stay another year on the agreement he would be allowed to go this summer.

As a result, the Hammers may have to fight off a number of rivals to land the England Under-21 international.

Big prospect

Aarons is a great young talent and there is a reason why he has attracted interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

The 21-year-old has had just three full seasons as a senior professional but has been very successful, winning promotion in two of those years, including this term.

Aarons also impressed in the Premier League last year despite the Canaries finishing bottom, achieving 1.3 dribbles per game at full-back [WhoScored].

His pace helps him take on players, with Coaches Voice describing Aarons as a player who turns defence into attack due to his ability to “carry the ball with pace”.

Norwich boss Daniel Farke is a huge fan of his player, suggesting the “outstanding” defender has an “unbelievable future” ahead of him [via Breaking the Lines].

It would be a real coup if West Ham manage to bring him in, therefore, and though Vladimir Coufal has been great this season, Aarons would undoubtedly improve the squad.

The only concern is the £30million fee – David Gold and David Sullican may be unwilling to stump up that amount.

If they had any sense they would splash the cash, however, as Aarons will surely pay back that price on the pitch and in any possible future sale.

In other West Ham news, the Irons have been told the price to sign a ‘sensational’ ace who tops chart in top-five leagues.
