West Ham ‘make approach for Dutch striker’ tearing up Ligue 1 – ExWHUEmployee
West Ham United have enquired about Strasbourg striker Emanuel Emegha, according to ExWHUEmployee.
The West Ham insider reported via his X account [22 January] that West Ham – among other clubs – have shown an interest in the frontman as they look to find a replacement for the injured Niclas Fullkrug.
However, it is claimed that the Ligue 1 outfit will not sanction an exit for Emegha this window, with a summer exit more likely unless a big offer is tabled.
Emegha has starred in Ligue 1 with seven league goals this season, with his all-round play impressing at Strasbourg.
West Ham are looking in the right places this window
Although the report states that Strasbourg will not sanction an exit this window, things can change over a monetary incentive and should the Hammers table a bid, that stance could change very swiftly.
However, even if a deal doesn’t materialise, the link itself should provide optimism as it showcases that the Irons are looking in the right places to find a resolution to the attacking woes that have not only haunted them this season but for several campaigns.
Danny Ings remains the only natural striker at the London Stadium, having scored just one Premier League goal so far this term, and Graham Potter will need someone capable of far more than that if he is to work his magic on the squad.

Emegha, if a deal can be possible, would be an excellent addition given the physical attributes he has as well as the ability to develop even further as a player.
All eyes will be on the transfer window as the Hammers step up their chase for a new striker.
In other West Ham news, this player is keen to move on from his current club with a switch to East London on the cards.
