West Ham United want to sign Nathan Ake and Owen Wijndal, open to selling Issa Diop and Arthur Masuaku – ExWHUemployee
West Ham are open to accepting offers for defenders Arthur Masuaku and Issa Diop this summer, with the club actively looking to sell according to ExWHUemployee.
The Hammers are set for a busy summer transfer window and both players have been out of favour this season, with David Moyes preferring Craig Dawson and Kurt Zouma in the middle while Aaron Cresswell and Ben Johnson are ahead in the pecking order on the left.
But with the summer window approaching, club insider Ex shared on his Patreon account [May 16] that the club have already lined up replacement targets with Man City’s Nathan Ake and AZ Alkmaar’s Owen Wijndal seen as ideal targets.

“The likes of Masuaku we will accept offers for. We will accept offers for Diop. I think the club will want to sell him and will actively look to sell him in the summer.
“Nathan Ake of Manchester City is still a target because we want a left-sided centre-back as a priority and Nathan Ake is one of them.
“In terms of left-backs we are looking at left-backs as well. One guy we are very keen on is a guy called Owen Wijndal of AZ Alkmaar in Holland. He is a Dutch international. He’s got a lot of potential and is quite highly rated. He’s someone we’ve looked at.”
Huge
The sales of both Masuaku and Diop would not be a surprise at all, especially when it comes to Diop as he has been linked with an exit in every transfer window for the last 18 months or so.
But the replacements being linked are intriguing as they show an attempt to freshen up the squad while also targeting players with plenty of potential.

Ake has been a regular in the Premier League for years and is currently part of the Man City squad but doesn’t play as often as he’d like. At just 27 he has got plenty to offer though and would be a good fit for the hungry squad Moyes has built.
Wijndal is a more unknown prospect, but has been an excellent cog in the machine at AZ Alkmaar and has been linked with Ajax in the past too.
At just 22-years-old he would be a brilliant long-term replacement for Cresswell, who is now well into his thirties and would provide good competition with Johnson. He is unlikely to cost an arm and a leg too, which is also a bonus.
