West Ham United want to sign Francisco Conceicao as release clause update drops

West Ham United want to sign FC Porto winger Francisco Conceicao this summer to bolster their attack, according to HITC.

The news outlet has reported (11 July), that the Portugal international is a target for the likes of Chelsea, Tottenham, and Fulham too but he is expected to stay with the Dragons.

That’s because clubs have only a few days to trigger his £25million release clause, as it is set to get hiked up to £38million on Monday (15 July) due to the terms of his contract [Record, 11 July].

West Ham to sign Francisco Conceicao to bolster attack

Conceicao burst onto the scene for Porto over the last 12 months by becoming a key member of the side’s attack, earning his Portugal debut in that time too.

He impressed while at Euro 2024 too, featuring in four games and scoring a late winner in the first group stage game against Czechia to cement himself as a top prospect at just 21 years old.

West Ham are in desperate need of attacking strength being added to their squad, with the futures of Michail Antonio and Danny Ings up in the air currently.

Jarrod Bowen has got the right-wing position on lock, but after a fantastic season as a central striker last season Julen Lopetegui could be looking at him to lead the line again and that would open up a spot for Conceicao.

Tim Steidten will have to move quickly to get a deal done for the right price though, and will face a lot of competition for his signature so it won’t be easy. But a deal is there to be done and he would improve the squad undoubtedly, so this is one to keep an eye on.

In other West Ham news, the club are in talks over a £10m plus player swap deal.
