West Ham United want to sign Chelsea outcast Ruben Loftus-Cheek ahead of AC Milan
West Ham are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek ahead of Serie A giants AC Milan, according to a report by 90min (18 May).
The England international has been on the periphery at Stamford Bridge this season and with his contract set to expire in 2024 and Chelsea needing to sell, his time at the club now looks to be coming to an end.
But while Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Champions League semi-finalists Milan are close to securing a deal for the 27-year-old, West Ham are among other clubs showing an interest too.

“There has been Premier League interest in Loftus-Cheek from Crystal Palace, Fulham, Leicester, Newcastle, West Ham and Wolves, but the English midfielder is believed to be intrigued by the idea of linking up with Tomori in Italy,” they wrote.
Strong
Loftus-Cheek is a fantastic athlete with phenomenal ability and quality with a football, and he’ll likely be available for a pretty affordable price.
When he’s been given a run of games while away on loan in the past at Crystal Palace and Fulham, and even with Chelsea too he’s always performed well and he has got plenty of versatility too.

However it seems as though he currently has his heart set on a move abroad to Italy to link up with a former teammate, and they may have Champions League football to offer too.
With Declan Rice likely to leave the club in the summer, Loftus-Cheek would be a great replacement in terms of his quality and attributes physically but he would certainly struggle with fitness as he has done his whole career.
It looks like a bit of a non-starter at this point but should the deal present itself as a possibility, then West Ham would be crazy not to look into it more.
