West Ham United want Luis Guilherme as Brentford transfer update emerges

West Ham are keeping tabs on Palmeiras’ Luis Guilherme this summer, facing competition from Brentford, according to Nosso Palestra.

The Brazilian source reported [28 May] that the Bees have not yet made an official proposal for the youngster but have entered talks with Palmeiras to understand the player’s situation.

It is understood that a £46.7million price tag has already been set ahead of the summer transfer window, with the Hammers monitoring the situation.

Could West Ham United sign Luis Guilherme from Palmeiras this summer?

The 18-year-old midfielder is one of the most exciting talents in Brazil currently, despite making just a handful of appearances for Palmeiras in 2024.

The youngster already has 43 senior appearances to his name, causing multiple clubs to sit up and take notice, which is why the Irons will face plenty of competition if they are to enter the transfer race.

Of course, with Endrick still at the club, until his move to Real Madrid this summer, a player like Guilherme will be overshadowed, though it is clear that he holds a lot of potential at such a young age.

As Julen Lopetegui arrives at the London Stadium, the Spaniard will be keen to make a few changes after David Moyes’ reign was brought to an end this season.

With Edson Alvarez, Tomas Soucek and James Ward-Prowse the main choices in midfield, Guilherme could be a very welcomed addition, especially after Kalvin Phillips’ failed loan move to the club.

Flynn Downes could return to the Hammers squad this summer, having impressed during his season-long loan with Southampton, though it seems a move back to St Mary’s Stadium is much more likely.

This would leave a spot available for Guilherme to fill, though it could come at a costly price for West Ham.

In other West Ham news, the club have tabled a £9.7million offer for an “unbelievable” attacker.
