West Ham United verbally agree three-year Guido Rodriguez contract, deal all but done

Guido Rodriguez has verbally agreed a three-year contract with West Ham, according to Mundo Deportivo.

The Spanish newspaper reported via their Gipuzkoa edition on Sunday (4 August, page 25) that Barcelona had been planning on signing the 30-year-old midfielder, who was released by Real Betis at the end of last season.

However, it is understood that the Hammers are “highly likely” to sign the Argentina international with Fabrizio Romano reporting that he’s due to undergo a medical to join the London club on Sunday.

Who will West Ham United sign next this summer?

As reported by Romano, Borussia Dortmund and Germany striker Niclas Fullkrug is also due to undergo a medical with the Hammers this weekend.

With Crysencio Summerville’s move from Leeds announced on Saturday (3 August), Irons fans will have to agree it’s been a very productive week for Tim Steidten and Julen Lopetegui with the Premier League season now less than two weeks away from kicking off.

But who’s next for the Irons after Summerville, Rodriguez and Fullkrug?

It looks as though Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka could be top of Steidten’s list to sign next, meaning he’s added to almost every position in the squad this summer.

On 2 August, Dharmesh Sheth reported that an agreement is close with Man United for that deal.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers were slammed for attempting a “huge and unnecessary” transfer risk.
