West Ham United transfers: Pablo Fornals could confirm permanent exit in ‘next few hours’, personal terms a ‘formality’
Pablo Fornals could see his West Ham United exit confirmed in the “next few hours” with personal terms expected to be a formality, according to CaughtOffside.
Writing on their website (27 January), the news outlet report that the Spanish midfielder is no longer in David Moyes’ plans and the Hammers are in talks with Real Betis about a transfer.
And talks have entered a “decisive stage” with the player open to the move and a deal potentially being done as soon as today.
“Likewise, Pablo Fornals is no longer in David Moyes’ plans and negotiations with Real Betis have reached a decisive stage, with the next few hours potentially confirming a move,” they wrote.
“The player will not oppose the move and personal terms should be a formality.”
No shock
Fornals has been on the periphery in the Hammers squad for a while now, and even with the current injury and availability issues the team has had he’s barely featured.
That suggests immediately that a deal is likely to be done if the club can find an agreement with another club, and the player is out of contract at the end of the season which makes this a good time to cash in.
Fornals has reportedly been keen to return to Spain for a while and linking up with former Hammers coach Manuel Pellegrini is an intriguing option for the midfielder.

With Kalvin Phillips joining the midfield options are essentially covered and with the hope that Ibrahim Osman will join him before the deadline, that would also cover the attacking positions that he can play in.
Fornals will get a solid reception when he leaves as he’s never put a foot wrong, but it certainly seems that the club have beyond the need of having him and it’s the best decision for all involved.
