West Ham United transfer update as Sevilla want Pablo Fornals now
West Ham are in negotiations with Europa League winners Sevilla over the possible sale of Pablo Fornals and are asking for £12.8million to let him go, according to Aaron Dominquez.
The Spanish journalist shared the news via his Twitter account on 22 August, following a previous tweet hinting at talks over the Spanish midfielder, who started the opening game of the season as the Hammers drew with Bournemouth.
A previous report from The Guardian [21 August] suggested the Hammers would look to cash in on Fornals, although it was suggested the price could be even lower – between £4.2million and £6.84million.
Time to cash in
Fornals is a much-loved figure at the London Stadium. He has been at the club for four years and scored the winner in their Europa Conference League semi-final as they went on to win the tournament, but the time has finally come for him to leave.
With just one year left on his current West Ham deal, £12.8million looks like a good deal for the club, despite being significantly less than the £23.8million they spent to bring him to London in 2019.
His impact on the team has also begun to wane, and despite starting the first game of the season against Bournemouth, he was dropped to the bench in favour of new signing James Ward-Prowse for the victory over Chelsea – a decision that was justified as the Englishman bagged two assists.

Following the arrivals of Ward-Prowse and Edson Alvarez, Fornals’ place is now uncertain, and a return to his home country and opportunity to play in the Champions League could provide too big of a temptation for him to turn down.
In other West Ham news, the club made a “huge” offer for a new player whose destination is now clear.
