Sky Sports reporter shares ‘interesting’ Vladimir Coufal development at West Ham United
Sky Sports News reporter Gail Davis has shared an “interesting” update with regards to the future of Vladimir Coufal at West Ham.
Coufal, who is into the final 18 months of his current deal, is supposedly unhappy with the latest contract offered to him by the Hammers.
The full-back was an ever-present prior to Tuesday’s (2 January) goalless draw with Brighton for David Moyes this season, but the club may consider cashing in in order to raise some funds.

Speaking on Sky Sports News’ Transfer Centre from inside London Stadium [2 December, 5.17pm], Davis said: “He’s unhappy with his current contract and he hopes the club will listen to other offers for him.
“That could be an interesting one if David Moyes wanted to free up funds to rebuild his squad that has done so well in 2023.”
Great servant
This is a situation that can happen when a club tries to take the next step and bring in bigger names.
While it is not officially known how much the likes of Mohammed Kudus and Edson Alvarez are on, to name a couple, they are likely on bigger wages than Coufal.
The Czech Republic international has been a consistent presence in Moyes’ starting line-ups this season, missing only one league game, and it might just be that the club have to consider offering him fresh terms.

No player should be able to hold the club ransom, of course, but Coufal has been a great servant and his pay deserves to reflect his importance to the side.
As Davis implied on Sky Sports News, though, this is also West Ham’s last real chance to land a decent fee given Coufal will be in the final year of his current terms come the next window as things stand.
With Coufal one of Moyes’ go-to men, that seems highly unlikely to happen. Let’s just hope this situation resolves itself so that Coufal does not get too unsettled.
In other West Ham news, legal action is pending at London Stadium after a £6.5million payment emerged.
