West Ham United still interested in Sevilla ace Youssef En-Nesyri after missing out on another target

West Ham are still hopeful of signing Youssef En-Nesyri from Sevilla on an initial loan deal with an option to buy, according to Ryan Taylor.

The Express journalist told GIVEMESPORT on Friday [1 September] that United are targeting the Morocco international after failing to persuade Corinthians to sell Yuri Alberto.

Europa League champions Sevilla are said to be willing to let a forward depart before the transfer window closes at 11pm on Friday [1 September], with En-Nesyri considered a player who can generate a large sum of money.

West Ham

Taylor said: “I think Sevilla are still willing to let one forward depart the club, and En-Nesyri could probably generate a fair bit of cash.

“So, we’ll have to see, but West Ham will probably look to do a loan with the option to buy.”

Get a move on

For all their impressive transfer business this summer, West Ham have not managed to land a centre-forward who is capable of leading their line.

The decision to sell Gianluca Scamacca was a bold call, but one that ultimately made sense as the Italian just did not suit David Moyes’ system.

The likes of Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen have stepped up in the meantime, while new signing Mohammed Kudus will also add another dimension to their attack.

But a tall player to act as the focal point of the side is clearly on Moyes’ wishlist, explaining the repeated links with Sevilla ace En-Nesyri.

West Ham

Time is certainly not on West Ham’s side, especially if they are trying to work the deal so that they have the best of both worlds when it comes to negotiating.

Loaning a player with an option to buy effectively means Sevilla are losing En-Nesyri for a season without any guarantee of a transfer fee, whereas loaning him with an obligation to buy further down the line would suit them better.

Either way, United need to get a move on if they are serious about their interest.

In other West Ham news, a first-team regular is reportedly attracting interest from a Saudi Arabian team.
