West Ham United transfer news: Ollie Arblaster update emerges at London Stadium with deal on cards

West Ham United want to sign Sheffield United midfielder Ollie Arblaster after his breakthrough season at Bramall Lane, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper has reported on its website that offers could be hard to refuse for Chris Wilder as the Blades head towards Premier League relegation.

The 19-year-old has only made three league appearances for the Blades having spent half of the season on a highly productive loan spell at Port Vale, but the last two of those, against Bournemouth and Fulham, have been starts.

Arblaster’s performances in those fixtures have not only repaid the faith shown in him Wilder, but have also put several Premier League clubs on high alert of his enormous potential with West Ham one of those.

Will West Ham United sign Ollie Arblaster?

There’s little doubt that David Moyes is feeling the pressure as West Ham’s inconsistent form continues, but there’s even less doubt that the Scotsman has a superb record at developing talent from the lower divisions.

Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen, who is now a staple in the England squad, have both hit career-best form during Moyes’ tenure, while new signings Mohammed Kudus and Edson Alvarez have proven to be effective acquisitions this season alongside James Ward-Prowse in midfield.

Sheffield United appear bound for the Championship barring a late-season revival, though Arblaster’s high stock comes from his top-flight performances and loan spells at Port Vale and Bradford Park Avenue.

Wilder will undoubtedly be keen to keep the Sheffield-born midfielder in the Blades’ ranks, but if there’s anyone to help him become a Premier League midfielder for years to come, it’s Moyes and the system he’s built at West Ham.
