David Moyes signing Maxwel Cornet offered out to complete West Ham United exits

West Ham have offered Everton the chance to sign Maxwel Cornet ahead of the transfer window closing, according to TEAMtalk.

The online outlet reported via Twitter on Friday [1 September] that West Ham are also open to offers from Everton for striker Danny Ings.

Both players, who previously played under Sean Dyche for Burnley, are out of favour at the London Stadium.

Makes sense

West Ham were very busy in July as they looked to offset the exits of Declan Rice and Gianluca Scamacca with new signings capable of slotting straight into the side.

Having achieved that with the additions of Mohammed Kudus, James Ward-Prowse, Edson Alvarez and Konstantinos Mavropanos, it may well be that the club’s incoming activity is done.

One or two exits are still a possibility, though, and it appears one or both of Cornet and Ings could be on the move ahead of the 11pm deadline on Friday [1 September].

Cornet was brought to the London Stadium by David Moyes last summer in a deal worth around £17.5million, but he started just two Premier League games in his maiden campaign at the club.

West Ham

The 26-year-old has played just one minute of action for the Hammers so far this season, meanwhile, and is clearly not part of Moyes’ plans.

If the winger is not going to have any sort of role to play this season, then it makes total sense for United to offload now while they still have a chance to recoup – hopefully – most of the fee paid just last year.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers have reportedly made their stance clear with regards to defender Nayef Aguerd’s future.
