Fabrizio Romano shares what he’s been told about Harry Maguire move to West Ham United
West Ham have still yet to make any approach to Manchester United over a move for defender Harry Maguire, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Hammers came close to signing the England international for £30million in the summer, only for talks to then collapse [The Independent].
The Mirror reported on Saturday (14 October) that West Ham remain interested in Maguire and are lining up a fresh move in the January window.

However, in an update on his Daily Briefing website on Sunday (15 October), Romano stated the Irons have yet to contact Man United.
Romano said: “Despite new links with West Ham, I’m told Man United have not received any approach from West Ham at the moment.
“We will see in December, but at the moment there are no discussions ongoing.”
Here we go again
It appeared as though rumours linking United with Maguire had gone away on the back of signing Konstantinos Mavropanos in August.
However, with Nayef Aguerd and Kurt Zouma each being linked with moves away in January, this fresh speculation makes sense.
Any move West Ham make for Maguire surely depends on one of those two departing London Stadium in the next few months.
It otherwise makes little sense for the Hammers to splash out £30m on bringing in yet another centre-back.

That likely explains why contact has yet to be made with Man United, as David Moyes’ side are waiting to see what approaches – if any – are made for Aguerd and Zouma.
Many United fans will struggle to get too excited about the prospect of Maguire joining in the new year, but the England international would undoubtedly strengthen Moyes’ defence.
As Romano said, let’s just wait and see how this one develops over the coming weeks and month.
