West Ham United news as Jota Silva transfer now expected at Vitoria Guimaraes
Vitoria Guimaraes are “almost certain” to sell rumoured West Ham target Jota Silva, according to Fanatik.
The Turkish outlet shared via its website on Saturday (4 May) that Brighton and Hove Albion and Fulham are also eyeing the winger.
Silva has impressed for Vitoria Guimaraes, but the report adds that the Portuguese side are now expected to cash in this summer.
Turkish heavyweights Benfica are also credited with an interest in the 24-year-old, who has been capped twice by his country at senior level.
How many goals has Jota Silva scored for Vitoria Guimaraes?
The fact Silva has earned a couple of caps for his country shows he clearly has something about him.
Silva has 15 goals and seven assists in 39 matches for Guimaraes, so it comes as no surprise to see he is wanted by multiple clubs.
Exactly how much the Primeira Liga side value him at remains to be seen, but he has just one year to remain on his current deal.
That means Guimaraes’ hand has been forced somewhat, yet the interest from elsewhere could help them drive up his valuation.
If this is a deal West Ham are serious about then they will need to ensure they are at the front of the queue.
The managerial uncertainty at London Stadium does not help, but Tim Steidten will no doubt be on top of things in terms of transfers.
The 2023-24 campaign may not yet be over with, but already there is excitement as we look ahead to the next campaign.
In other West Ham news, the Irons may well have their next manager lined up after an announcement earlier this week.
