Atletico Madrid stance shared amid West Ham United and Fulham interest in Caglar Soyuncu
West Ham are interested in signing centre-back Caglar Soyuncu from Atletico Madrid, according to Loic Tanzi.
The L’Equipe journalist added on his personal Twitter page on Tuesday (16 January) that Roma and Fulham are also in the hunt for Soyuncu.
Soyuncu is expected to leave Atletico before the end of the January transfer window, having played just eight times in all competitions this term.
On his way out
Given the uncertainty over Nayef Aguerd’s future, and the fact Angelo Ogbonna is getting no younger, signing another centre-back makes sense.
Soyuncu has experience of English football following his five years at Leicester City, during which time he won the FA Cup.
The Turkey international was snapped up by Atleti following Leicester’s relegation, but he has struggled to nail down a place and now looks set to be on his way out.

With a couple of substitute appearances in the Champions League to his name this term, Soyuncu could still do a job in the Premier League.
The fact he signed a four-year deal with the LaLiga club means that they are unlikely to let him depart on the cheap, even if he was a free agent.
West Ham are not in immediate need of a new centre-back, so it may well be a case of instead waiting to the summer and seeing what comes up then.
In other West Ham news, an agent is reportedly in talks with a player’s club amid supposed interest from the Irons.
