West Ham United transfer news as Wilfried Zaha update emerges
West Ham have named Wilfried Zaha as their top transfer target following his contract expiry and Declan Rice’s likely move to Arsenal, according to the Mirror.
West Ham are one of the teams in the running to sign Zaha this summer after his Palace contract ran out on 1 July, as the Hammers aim to reinvest the £105m deal for Declan Rice into the rest of their squad, although he has been warned against the move.
Zaha’s contract at Crystal Palace has expired, leaving the Ivorian as a free agent, with an offer on the table from multiple clubs across the world including Lazio [Fabrizio Romano, 23 June] and Al Nassr [Romano, 6 June], while there is also interest from PSG and Atletico Madrid.

Do everything.
Zaha would be a fantastic addition to any team this summer, with the level of interest in the 30-year-old a testament to how good he has been for Palace over a number of years. West Ham could use their Europa League qualification as a bargaining point, but one would assume the priority for Zaha is Champions League football.
Should PSG or Atletico Madrid take their interest a step further in offering the winger a contract, he would surely prefer a move to either superstar club over the Hammers.

Palace also have a contract offer remaining for their academy product, at a club record £200,000 per week deal, which would extend his stay at the club by another four years.
Zaha has scored ten or more goals in three of the last five Premier League seasons, with his highest being a total of 14 under Patrick Vieira. His scoring ability has certainly improved with time, while his versatility and work rate would make him a valuable asset wherever he ends up.
