West Ham United transfer news as Maxwel Cornet agents make proposal to Fenerbahce
Maxwel Cornet could be in line for a January exit from West Ham after his agents made contact with Turkish giants Fenerbahce, according to Takvim.
The Turkish newspaper reported online (11 December) that the Turkish Super Lig leaders are looking for reinforcements at centre-back and on the wings in the transfer window.
And Hammers winger Cornet, who is on the fringes at the London Stadium, has reportedly been offered to the club as an option.

“A surprise offer came to the Yellow-Navy Blue team. Maxwel Cornet, who plays for West Ham United, was recommended to Fenerbahce through managers,” the report read.
No big loss
Whether this one actually has legs or not is anyone’s guess, but what is for sure is that Cornet would be no miss at all to the Hammers and actually it probably makes sense to get him off the wage bill.
Cornet arrived from Burnley in August 2022 for a fee Sky Sports reported to be worth £17.5million but he simply just has not been able to cut the mustard at the London Stadium, making just 15 Premier League appearances – only two as a starter, while he has just a solitary appearance off the bench in the league this term.

He has started once in the League Cup and four times in the Europa League, but the chances of him becoming a regular starter under David Moyes seem pretty unlikely anytime soon.
There is the added complication that Cornet is in line to make the Ivory Coast’s Africa Cup of Nations squad, so any suitors may be reticent to sanction a deal, but if Fener are interested then it seems a no-brainer.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers stance on January incomings has been shared.
