West Ham United transfer news as Divin Mubama decision shared at London Stadium

West Ham United’s young striker Divin Mubama is still expected to be leaving London Stadium upon expiry of his contract this summer, according to The Standard.

The publication stated on 21 May that there have been no developments on a new contract for Mubama, who did not start a single Premier League match this season and played only 75 minutes of league action.

It is now as good as confirmed that Mubama will seek a new challenge in the hope of regular first-team football, particularly after the departure of David Moyes in place of Julen Lopetegui.

West Ham United’s striker dilemma

Mubama and West Ham’s seemingly mutual decision looks best suited too all parties, after a promising pre-season was not followed up during the Premier League campaign with the 19-year-old given barely a chance.

It appears the Hammers are also willing to listen to offers for Danny Ings, whilst Michail Antonio, 34, has just a year to run on his contract after a season he personally admitted wasn’t to his own standards.

Jarrod Bowen will always command interest, but as long as the England international is content at London Stadium, the club remain in a strong position with his contract still having a gargantuan six years to run.

It is a certainty that Lopetegui – together with technical director Tim Steidten and the recruitment team – will make attacking recruits amongst wholesale squad changes.

In other West Ham news, there could be a last-ditch contract U-turn for one Hammers player.

Mubama’s age and profile will make him an attractive proposition to clubs domestically and abroad, and it’ll be interesting to see if he can hit the ground running elsewhere.

In other West Ham news, the Irons are keen on securing a deal for Sheffield United keeper Wes Foderingham this summer.
