West Ham United transfer news as Chelsea duo Conor Gallagher and Callum Hudson-Odoi admired – ExWHUEmployee

West Ham United are “big admirers” of Chelsea pair Conor Gallagher and Callum Hudson-Odoi ahead of the summer transfer window, according to ExWHUEmployee.

Hudson-Odoi, 22, has been out on loan at Bayer Leverkusen this season, while Gallagher has found game time hard to come by at Stamford Bridge, starting just 15 Premier League games this season.

TalkSPORT previously reported (29 May) that the Hammers have already been alerted to the availability of the Blues midfielder this summer, with £40million likely to be enough for his services.

“With the arrival of Pochettino this summer, there are players that are being made available by them as they undertake a clear-out,” Ex said on The West Ham Way Patreon.

“Players to keep an eye on are Conor Gallagher and Callum Hudson-Odoi as we are known to be big admirers. The fact they are set to be moved on is a big appeal to West Ham.

“However, I must stress that with a lot of uncertainty at present with our manager’s future, a possible new Director of Football appointment, European football next season and our captain’s future currently unknown – any target list will not be confirmed once things settle down.”

Great options

Both Gallagher and Hudson-Odoi have been held in high regard at Stamford Bridge in previous seasons, but the influx of players under Todd Boehly has led to both falling down the pecking order.

Chelsea are going to be keen to sell on a number of their players once Mauricio Pochettino gets to grips with his new first-team squad this summer, and the England pair could be the unlucky ones ousted from the club.

From a West Ham perspective, the imminent sale of Declan Rice should leave the club in a strong position for negotiations in the upcoming transfer window.

If David Moyes is given a purse in the region of £100-£150million, both Gallagher and Hudson-Odoi are the calibre of players they can target.

With Manuel Lanzini likely to leave West Ham United this summer, and the future of Pablo Fornals in the air, further options in the final third could be desperately needed, and these two fit the bill.
