West Ham United transfer news as £15m+ move on cards for Konstantinos Mavropanos
West Ham are in talks with Stuttgart over a move for centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos, with a £15.4million fee being discussed, according to Kicker.
The German news outlet shared on 16 August that the defender sees his “destiny” to play in England, and his wish could now come true after West Ham opened negotiations both with his club and the player’s representatives.
Following a mixed spell with Arsenal which saw the Greek defender make just eight appearances, he feels he has something to prove in the Premier League, despite interest from Italian Champions Napoli.

Cheaper deal.
The proposed £15.4million deal with the German outfit would allow West Ham to invest money elsewhere. They were prepared to pay £30million to bring Manchester United’s Harry Maguire to the club before that deal fell through, so one for half the price would be easily achievable.
It is said that Mavropanos has made no secret of his desire to return to England, as he would like to take the next step in his career and is aware of the financial possibilities on offer, having made 80 Bundesliga appearances and earned 19 caps for Greece.
His size, robustness and speed have contributed to his growth into a key player in the Bundesliga and would set him up nicely for the transition into Premier League football as West Ham look to add depth at the back.

The Hammers are looking to compete in all four competitions: the Premier League, Europa League, FA Cup and Carabao Cup this season, and plenty of strength in depth all over the pitch will give them the best opportunity to do so.
In other West Ham news, the club have made a £29m+ offer for a new striker.
