Roshane Thomas shares details on West Ham United futures of Aaron Cresswell and Angelo Ogbonna
West Ham are “unlikely” to offer Aaron Cresswell and Angelo Ogbonna new contracts, according to Roshane Thomas.
Both players are due to become free agents at the end of the campaign if fresh terms are not agreed before then.
Thomas shared details on Cresswell and Ogbonna’s London Stadium futures in an article for The Athletic [26 October].

“It is unlikely the club will extend the stays of Aaron Cresswell and Angelo Ogbonna, so they are set to leave in June,” he said.
With regards to other players, Thomas added: “Pablo Fornals, whose contract includes a one-year option, is yet to start negotiations with the club.
“Tomas Soucek signed a four-year deal in August, while Vladimir Coufal and Michail Antonio remain in negotiations over a potential contract extension.”
Fringe players
Cresswell and Ogbonna have fallen way down the pecking order, so this is not exactly surprising news.
Indeed, Cresswell could not even get any minutes in Thursday’s (26 October) disappointing 2-1 loss at Olympiacos as he was an unused substitute.
Ogbonna played the full 90 minutes as David Moyes rotated the side, but it was not exactly a performance to shout home about.

It would have been nice to get a fee of some sort for both players, perhaps explaining why the club were open to offers for Cresswell in the summer.
It is likely that the pair will depart as free agents in around seven months’ time, though, unless any clubs come in when the window reopens in January.
While West Ham are pretty well stocked for now at centre-back, Cresswell’s departure only heightens the need for cover at full-back.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers have suffered yet another transfer blow that could cost them millions of pounds down the line.
