West Ham United to trigger Todibo clause soon, ‘almost guaranteed’ – Fabrizio Romano

West Ham are almost guaranteed to trigger a buy clause and sign Jean-Clair Todibo on a permanent transfer, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The transfer specialist reported on 8 September that the Hammers have a £33.7million obligation for the 24-year-old with OGC Nice.

The deal is “almost guaranteed” and is likely to be triggered soon with the France international being considered a “100 per cent West Ham player”.

West Ham to activate Jean-Clair Todibo buy clause

The Hammers look likely to add the former Barcelona star to their ranks on a permanent basis next summer after an initial loan.

There was a lot of excitement surrounding his signing with the Irons fighting off interest from Juventus to land his signature [Sebastien Vidal].

Julen Lopetegui has yet to trust Todibo with Max Kilman and Konstantinos Mavrapanos being the preferred partnership so far.

This has somewhat quietened down based on the start of the season although the form of his competition has been impressive.

Given that the defender could be signed for over £30m at the end of the campaign, the Spaniard will have to show some faith in him soon.

The former Real Madrid boss has waited to feature his new signings to allow them to gel in with Niclas Fulkrug and Crysencio Summerville yet to make a Premier League start.

Todibo is likely to sign permanently so will likely become a first-team regular in the coming weeks.
