West Ham United target Harvey Barnes could be available on cut-price deal, Newcastle leading the race
West Ham are battling it out with Newcastle United for Harvey Barnes as the Leicester City winger is now reportedly available on a cut-price deal, according to The Daily Express.
The newspaper reported on 16 July that £30million could be enough to prize the 25-year-old away from the King Power Stadium after The Guardian previously claimed the Foxes were looking for £35million.
With Declan Rice officially having left the club though, money is now available for the Irons to go out and splash as they look to strengthen their own squad.

Time to act
This is a transfer saga that seems to be constantly twisting and turning, as a number of clubs have shown an interest in Barnes this summer without making a concrete offer.
It’s no surprise, though, after the winger had an excellent season for the Foxes despite the club’s relegation, scoring 13 goals in 34 Premier League matches – marking his best return to date.
If Leicester have indeed dropped their asking price, that is probably because they are looking for a swift resolution and want to get a deal over the line as soon as possible.

There is absolutely no way the Hammers should pass up the chance to sign Barnes for £30million, with the winger showing over a number of years that he is a fantastic player on his day.
Now that the money is through from the Rice deal to Arsenal, there is no excuse as to why the club’s hierarchy can’t go full steam ahead to try and go some new faces through the door to strengthen the squad ahead of another European campaign.
